Nairobi is the vibrant economic heart of Kenya. The capital is home to the Kenyan government, international companies and organizations, banks and conference centers as well as numerous hotels, restaurants and bars. At the same time, Nairobi is a green metropolis and the perfect starting point for safaris in Kenya's highlands. Just a few kilometers from the city center, the Nairobi National Park offers real safari experiences in front of the city skyline!
Vacationers who want to see the sights in Nairobi have a wide range of interesting excursion options. The capital of the popular African vacation destination Kenya offers its visitors numerous attractions, both scenic and cultural. Among the sights in the city center are the architecturally elaborate parliament building and the town hall. The National Library and the National Theater are also worth a visit. Holidaymakers can buy traditional African souvenirs at the Maasai Market and the Sarit Centre, the largest shopping center in Kenya.
Kenya is not only known for its scenic diversity, but also for the many animals that live here. On a safari through the Nairobi National Park, vacationers can observe them in their natural habitat. The park has been in existence since 1946 and is located just 7 km from the city center. Various bird and mammal species live here in an area of just under 120 square kilometers. During a jeep ride through the park, visitors can take photos of giraffes, rhinos, gazelles, zebras, lions and antelopes, among others.
Other attractions in Nairobi
A special excursion destination in the Kenyan capital is the Langata Giraffe Center. Here, visitors can observe giraffes from a viewing tower and even feed them themselves. A tour of the Daphne Sheldrick's Orphanage Center is very worthwhile. In this orphanage for elephants and rhinos, visitors can experience how the animals are raised.
