Overnight stay at the traditional Sarova Stanley Hotel.
After breakfast, the drive towards central Kenya begins and on arrival at Aberdare Country Club you will enjoy your lunch.
In the afternoon, you will experience your first impressions of the animal world on a game drive.
The park covers most of the Aberdare mountain range, whose official name today is Nyandarua, meaning "dry skin". However, the name is not really justified, as the area is not actually dry. Especially in the dense forests on the mountain slopes, the bamboo growth on the mountains shows that it is not dry and at higher altitudes it is even wetter. High moors, waterfalls and streams can be found at an altitude of around 300 meters. Even higher up, at around 3,500 meters, there is Afrosubalpine flora. The volcanic origin of the landscapes is clearly visible and there are sure to be a few surprises in store for visitors. The different landscapes in Aberdare National Park are mainly due to the differences in altitude, which range from around 2,100 meters to 4,300 meters above sea level. Here you will find moorland, bamboo and rainforests.
Animals that live here include the big five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino) as well as baboons and other species of monkey, which can be easily observed. The golden cat and the bongo, a species of antelope that has found its habitat in the bamboo forest, are more difficult to spot. This extremely rare bongo antelope can be recognized by its reddish-brown and white striped coat. The higher moorland is home to eland and serval, a medium-sized cat species that is mainly found in Africa. Visitors to Aberdare National Park can also admire the black rhino, the black leopard and the black serval cat, as well as a wide variety of bird species.
The park has two mountains with an altitude of more than 3,900 meters. These are the "Kinangop" and the "Ol Donyo Lesatima".
Overnight stay at The Ark Lodge.
Breakfast and then the route continues north to the Samburu/Shaba region.
Lunch will be taken at the lodge. You will spend 2 nights here.
In the arid Samburu region in the northern part of central Kenya, there is a trio of neighboring national reserves: Shaba, Buffalo Springs and Samburu. Shaba is the largest reserve, but the least visited of the three. In Shaba, guests on game drives sometimes have to wait a little longer to spot big game. In return, they get to experience a landscape and wildlife that you won't see anywhere else in East Africa.
Beisa oryx antelopes with their long horns roam through the golden grass of the steppe. The peculiar giraffe antelopes (gerenuks) stretch their long necks upwards to reach the best leaves on the bushes. Reticulated giraffes with their particularly clear markings feed on the acacias and Somali ostriches strut through the savannah. To the north, the reserve is bordered by the Ewaso Ngiro River, on the banks of which grow doum palms with their branching trunks. Joy Adamson, who became famous with the book and film "Born Free" about the lioness Elsa in Meru National Park, also worked in Shaba. Here she observed a female leopard, which she released into the wild. Joy Adamson describes the story of this animal in a book: "Queen of Shaba".
The Shaba National Park is 130 km² in size and lies to the east of the...

In the afternoon, discover the park on a game drive.
Lake Nakuru National Park is one of the smallest national parks in Kenya, but one of the most popular parks in Kenya due to its easy accessibility, varied landscapes and abundance of wildlife. It is located in the middle of the Rift Valley, the Great African Rift Valley around Lake Nakuru. As the lake has no outlet, its water is alkaline. The alkaline water is the basis of life for flamingos, which often populate the lake in incredible numbers. The lake was originally not home to any fish, but an African cichlid species was artificially introduced, which attracted many water birds such as cormorants and pelicans.
As the small national park is fenced throughout, it is an ideal conservation area for rare animal species: for example, black rhinos from parts of the country where they would have been threatened by poachers have been resettled here. In Nakuru, they have nothing to fear from poachers and also have much better breeding conditions. White rhinos, which were previously extinct in Kenya, have even been introduced from South Africa. Today, Lake Nakuru is the best place in Kenya to observe rhinos. The rare Rothschild's giraffe, which is native to Uganda and western Kenya, has also found a safe refuge at Lake Nakuru.

MORE INFO...The world-famous Masai Mara is on the program today and tomorrow.
The "Great Migration" in the East African Masai Mara is without doubt a very special safari experience! Up to 1.5 million wildebeest, 400,000 zebras and Thomson's gazelles migrate every year in search of fresh food and water from the vastness of the Tanzanian Serengeti towards the Kenyan Masai Mara. Heavy rains in the region in March and April cause the herds to head northwest, where the mating season begins. In May, they enter the western corridor of the Serengeti and finally reach the Grumeti River. At the beginning of the dry season, from June to October, the animals move on towards the Kenyan Masai Mara and have to cross the dangerous rivers. They often fall victim to the numerous predators that wait for this easy prey every year.
Dramatic scenes often take place when crossing the river, as the herds, already exhausted from the migration, are easy prey not only for the predators, but also for the crocodiles lurking in the rivers. Sometimes the animals are already so weak and exhausted that they can no longer climb the steep banks. This, often dramatic, spectacle is the most famous part of the migration and attracts numerous visitors from all over the world every year!
