Makalali Private Game Lodge was originally an old cattle farm when it was purchased in the early nineties. Restocking and regeneration of the veld were top priorities, but also a lodge with something extra. The lodge is built under the huge trees that guard the river. Makalali means place of tranquility, while the lodge offers a relaxed and informal experience. The chefs prepare a range of culinary experiences, from dinner in the bush to a boma dinner under the stars. Look forward to a range of activities from rafting, abseiling, ballooning and golf outings to a visit to the Cheetah breeding project. The center consists of a unique thatched main building, an open kitchen and an entertainment area.
