Take a game drive in an open safari vehicle in the late afternoon. The reserve offers a great variety of species and therefore an excellent opportunity to experience the "big five" - elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard - up close.
Day 4:
Start the day early in the morning with a game drive in an open safari vehicle followed by breakfast at the lodge.
Free time to relax until lunch.

Your journey today takes you to the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal. An optional boat trip on Lake St. Lucia brings you closer to hippos, crocodiles and birds before you continue to your lodge.
Day 7:
This morning we recommend that you go on a game drive in Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park, the oldest protected area in Africa.
Visit the lodge's cat rehabilitation project in the afternoon.

Breakfast at the hotel and check-out and drive to King Shaka International Airport near Durban, in time for your flight to Port Elizabeth. Here you return your rental car. We recommend booking a flight in the afternoon.
Arrive at Port Elizabeth airport and pick up your new rental car. Transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Stroll along the beaches or through the Boardwalk Entertainment Complex.

Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. Today's journey takes you first to Tsitsikamma National Park, where you should visit the Big Tree and the Storms River Delta. Take your time to discover this enchanted forest on foot. Tsitsikamma means "the place with lots of water" and is part of the Garden Route National Park. The park stretches for about 5 km from the sea and shelters a wonderland of coastal creatures, reefs and deep-sea fish.
Continue to the Monkeyland Primate Sanctuary, home to 18 different species of great apes - 11 of which roam freely in the 12-hectare forest, while a further seven species live in huge enclosures within the forest or in the Birds of Eden.
In Knysna we recommend a sundowner boat trip on the John Benn.
Day 10:
After a leisurely breakfast, we recommend a boat trip on the lagoon or a visit to the Knysna Elephant Park. Then stroll through the stores of the Knysna Waterfront and stop for lunch in one of the excellent restaurants. The afternoon is free to further explore this charming town, with its natural harbor on the lagoon of the same name.

Breakfast at the hotel and check-out. Today you drive from Knysna to Oudtshoorn. Visit the world-famous Cango Caves for a 1-hour guided heritage tour. Upon entering the entrance chamber, you will immediately notice the high humidity and pleasantly warm temperatures. A faint, musty smell may indicate the presence of a small colony of bats that still call the cave home.
Afterwards, visit an ostrich farm for an informative tour and the Cango Wildlife Ranch.
You will reach your hotel in the late afternoon.

After a leisurely breakfast, you leave Oudtshoorn and drive along the famous Route 62 via Barrydale, Ladismith and Montague to Cape Town. This is a spectacular route with steep cliffs, lovely valleys and majestic mountain ranges.
Arrive in Cape Town in the afternoon, just in time to take the cable car up Table Mountain and go for a meal at the V&A Waterfront.
Day 13:
Explore the Cape Peninsula today.
Drive along the Atlantic coast through the upmarket suburbs of Cape Town to the small fishing port of Hout Bay. Stroll through the harbor or take a boat trip to the seal colony.
Continue along the spectacular Chapman's Peak coastal road to Cape Point, where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans (supposedly) meet, and to the Cape of Good Hope. The cog railroad takes you to the lighthouse.
On your way back to Cape Town, the historic naval base of Simon's Town, the penguin colony at Boulders Beach and the KIrstenbosch Botanical Gardens await you.
Day 14:
Travel to the Cape Winelands today. Visit the famous wine routes in Paarl, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch.
We particularly recommend a ride on the Franschhoek Winetram or a picnic under shady trees at the Allee Bleue wine estate.
