Aberdare Country Club, just a two-and-a-half-hour drive north-east of Nairobi, is located on the slopes of Mweiga Hill in the Aberdare Highlands, part of the Great Rift Valley. This fascinating place was the home of an English couple who settled in Kenya. Almost half a century later, their home, "The Steep", has been renamed the Aberdare Country Club and opened to guests. It became a heritage property and has all the charm of a private home while retaining the simple comforts of a country inn.
