The town of Victoria Falls is located on the southern bank of the Zambezi River at the eastern end of the Victoria Falls. "Vic Falls is a charming little tourist town that can be explored on foot and offers a wide range of activities. The Victoria Falls are one of the Seven Wonders of the World and are the largest, uniformly cascading waterfalls on earth - a fascinating natural spectacle. Over a width of almost 2 km, the Zambezi thunderously plunges into a 100 m deep gorge, creating mist that is visible for several kilometers and has given the area its name, as "Mosi Oa Tunya" means "thundering smoke".
The Victoria Falls can be reached on foot from the city center and carry water all year round. The falls reach their highest water level between February and May. During this time, the spray can reach a height of up to 400 meters. This is a truly spectacular sight, but the bottom of the falls disappears in thick fog.
In August, the water slowly begins to recede, so that the river reaches its lowest level in October and the rocky bottom becomes partially dry and visible. During this time, it is advisable to visit the Victoria Falls from Zimbabwe or Livingstone Island.
