Mihingo Lodge
Mihingo Lodge is a tranquil and exclusive retreat near Lake Mburo National Park. It has ten rooms built on wooden platforms with stilts covered with a thatched roof. Under the thatched roof hangs a spacious and comfortable tent equipped with en-suite bathrooms with breathtaking views, including hot and cold running water, showers and toilets. Each luxury tented room is located on a private part of the lodge's property, allowing guests to enjoy the tranquil surroundings in complete seclusion. Set in varied environments, some rooms are located in a forest, others with lake views, others on rocky outcrops. The main dining room consists of a large thatched structure made of rocks, the wood of weathered olive trees found on the land and native grasses. Below the dining room, an infinity swimming pool stretches out from the rocks and seems to disappear into the vast landscape beyond. From the dining and pool area, guests can enjoy views of a west-facing valley and the breathtaking evening sunsets over Lake Mburo National Park. Lake Mburo is home to many different animal species, including zebra, eland and impala, which are not found in most other national parks in Uganda. In addition, Lake Mburo has a large number of waterbuck, topi, buffalo, hippo, duiker, bushbuck, klipspringer and if you are lucky, oribi, reedbuck, leopard and crocodile. In addition to relaxing by the pool, enjoying the sounds of nature or observing the nearby wildlife, guests can also take advantage of the numerous activities offered by Lake Mburo National Park and Mihingo Lodge. Leisure activities include boat trips on Lake Mburo, savannah walks, game drives in Lake Mburo National Park and horse safaris.
